Melbourne's Okayden Made a Banger Inspired by a Sweat Licking Bee

Summer is just around the corner, and we're all about to get reacquainted with two great Aussie traditions: sweating our guts out and having weird insects all up in our business. So, it's pretty fitting that one of those insects has served as the inspo for a dance track.
Melbourne producer Okayden's latest track, Tetragonula Carbonaria,Ā is a nod to one of our lesser known local legends - the native Sweat Bee (also known as the Sugarbag bee in case you were wondering). Apparently, it's called a Sweat bee because it literally wants to have a lick of your sweat. Yummy. To be fair, that's the perfect vibe for a tune built to make you do just that on the dancefloor.
This track is part of a new direction for Okayden. You might remember some of his past tracks that we've played on theĀ show; he often dabbled with a vocal-chop style. He's strippingĀ back his sound to focus on pure rhythm and continuing to finesseĀ his distinctiveĀ style.
Be sure to check out Tetragonula Carbonaria and go thank a tiny Aussie bee for the inspiration.
Nice one, Okayden!
