This week's playlist has a little bit of everything, from DNB, club energy, some downtempo dub and even some Jazz infused house.

We kicked off with SETRA, the collaborative project of Jim Wilson and Tommy-John Herbert. Phase, from their debut EP Momentum, blends live instrumentation into a beautifully produced four-track release that leans more toward listening than late-night club. That said, it would bring serious magic to a sunrise or sunset set.

Also in the mix is Audible Thought’s Mysterious Matter, pulled from the latest Bushpaka compilation curated by Unknown Concept, whose own track Flummox also features. If you know either of these artists, you’ll recognise the vibe instantly. Dark, hypnotic, and full of that psy-influenced bush techno energy made for a dirt dancefloor with only the trees watching.

Meghna returns to Electronic Music Australia with Road Rage, bringing catharsis and control into her own distintictive brand of pop. Melbourne’s 22mackie delivered Shame. This one got me. The lyrics are raw in that way where you can’t tell if you should be dancing or having an existential crisis in a bathroom stall. I love how it leans all the way in. It’s sweaty, sincere, and the emotion behind it sneaks up on you when you’re not paying attention.

With delightful melodies and energy that makes you feel, ZUSO & Maver Make Me Feel. And EMA’s golden boy Sweatbaby returns with back 2 me — the "make-up" follow-up to what might just be the ultimate breakup anthem of the year, Think Again. And if all this thinking and feeling is getting a bit much, dial up the volume for Wongo and KLP’s Cherry which is pure glossy, club-ready energy. No over analysis required.

Track of the Week: Jane Doe - All In

Sometimes you just need some proper Drum and Bass in your face — and who better to deliver heavy-hitting DnB energy than South Australia’s undisputed Queen of DNB, Jane Doe. She doesn’t mess about with watered-down vibes. She goes ALL IN every single time. This one’s off her Fortress EP, and it’s a mighty big yes from me.
