The Aussential Mix with Doug Loch

April’s Aussential Mix comes from the very talented Doug Loch, a man with serious musical chops and a deep love for progressive sounds.

Doug isn’t just a DJ — he’s a classically trained pianist and guitarist, singer, producer, percussionist… basically, if it makes music, Doug probably plays it. His sets are rich with melody and movement, weaving together deep, emotive, progressive vibes with that trademark long-mix flow. It’s the kind of set that builds, breathes, and gives you space to feel something.

He caught the dance music bug at The Hacienda back in the '80s, and after a long legal career (yes, really), Doug is now back in music full-time. Since 2023, he’s launched his label and party series People Like Us Music and dropped a string of original tracks, including Resonant, Team Green, Dig Deep After Rio, and his latest release, Standing Around — which you’ll hear in this mix.

This one’s a deep, progressive journey — perfect for big walks, long drives, or just zoning out somewhere comfy. Big love to Doug for this month’s mix.
